What is Andrographis Extract?

Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees) is a plant of the family Andrographaceae. Also known as spring lotus, autumn willow, a see happy, marquise lotus, bitter bile grass, golden herb, golden ear hook, Indian grass, bitter grass, etc., annual herb. Stems are 50-80 cm tall, 4-angled, much-branched proximally, with inflated nodes. Leaves ovate-corundum to tortuous-lanceolate, 4-8 cm long, 1-2.5 cm wide, slightly obtuse at the tip.

Inflorescence axis with smaller leaves, racemes terminal and axillary, integrated into large panicles; bracts and bracteoles minute, ca. 1 mm; calyx lobes triangular-lanceolate, ca. 3 mm, with glandular hairs and pubescence; corolla white and small, lower lip with purple bands, ca. 12 mm, outer glandular hairs and pubescence, 2-lipped, upper lip slightly 2-lobed, lower lip 3-parted, corolla tube as long as the lip; stamens 2, anthers 2-locule Stamens 2, anthers 2-locules, one locule basally and pilose on one side of filaments. Capsule flat, with a groove, about 10 mm long, sparsely glandular hair; seeds 12, quadrangular, rugose. It is the whole grass or leaves of Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees.
